The exhibition “20 French Design Icons”, which in a chronological sequence displays the world of French design within the 15 years, reveals the most significant products, that symbolize a whole generation, and their appearance on the international stage.
“20 French Design Icons” introduce us with the most outstanding objects of the French design school of the 20th and 21st century, which have broken the habitual codes or have anticipated the time with a unchangeable desire to serve, fascinate and amaze.
The exhibit invites to explore the well–known fields of action of French design, from Philippe Starck to Ora–Ito, from Ronan Bouroullec to Patrick Jouin. French design has become recognized for its ability invite something original, its creative use of the highly developed technologies and innovative materials, this way even characterizing the country, in which the engineering, creativity and art plays a very important role. As the examples can be mentioned – the unique system opened for various geometrical combination by Erwan and Ronan Bouroullec „Seaweed”, which is considered to be a revolution in the division of the space. The chair created in the stereolithografic technique by Patrick Jean – a symbol of the new technologies and the opportunities of the design of the 21st century.
