„We have included in the program both, the classics of the Latvian bandstand, and the popular songs of the composers of the nowadays, that has been following me and my collaborators – musical group – through our lives,” tells the singer about his new musical program. He acknowledges that these songs built his relationship with Latvian popular and rock music. „These are popular and undeservedly forgotten songs, found to contain not only musical value and the breath, the smell of that time, but also the importance in scene of the nowadays. We let these songs resound with a new breath, in new versions, involving the arrangements and our own knowledge and experience gained in numerous music festivals and concerts,” says Daumants Kalniņš.
It should be noted, that despites the date of birth (Daumants is only 25 years old!), musical experience of both, his and his musical band is noticeably great. In addition to that, he has also received numerous outstanding prizes: award of “Spēlmaņu Nakts” in the category “Debut of the Year” for the role of Quasimodo at “Notre Dame Cathedral” (he has been nominated also for a the “Latvian Great Musical Award” in 2012). Meanwhile, in 2015, he received the GRAND PRIX of “Riga Jazz Stage” festival.
