"Caspervek" is a Spanish instrumental music group, especially interested in the uniting process of the music and visual arts. The main activity has always been connected with the preservation of the silent film heritage and composing process of the new soundtracks.
Trio „Caspervek” was created in 2013, in Vigo, Spain. Everything began with a meeting of two group members – Blas Castañer and Brais González. They started work together of a live soundtrack for the German expressionism film – the classic horror symphony “Nosferatu” by Frederick Wilhelm Murnau. After this performance, the music union expanded by adding a new member – violinist Eduard Vecbaštiks from Riga. Since then, the trio started to reveal the heritage of the 20th century 20’s films. During the first five months of the group’s existence, they have had premieres of five different soundtracks for the classic silent films. Press has described this debut as the “big surprise of 2013”.
