On December 19, London Community Gospel Choir (LCGC) performed on the stage of the Embassy of Latgale GORS with a concert of their Eastern European tour. During the concert, listeners had the opportunity to enjoy traditional gospel compositions in an authentic performance.
This emotional band is recognized as one of the best professional choirs in the world. London Community Gospel Choir has performed with Kylie Minogue, Madonna, James Brown, George Michael, even Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Elton John, Depeche Mode and other well known artists. Choir has participated in many television and radio broadcasts as well as has recorded the sound track for the cartoon of Walt Disney “Lion King”.
London Community Gospel Choir was founded in 1983 by it`s leader Bazil Meade. Choir unites representatives of many generations, who are brought together by the love of music and Christianity what is brought to other people by their performances in churches, concert halls, night clubs, jails, schools, theaters, TV and radio studios already 20 years in a row. London Community Gospel Choir sings at conferences, official nation ceremonies, birthday parties, even funerals and celebrity celebrations.
Choir has approximately 100-150 performances a year in different places all around the world. They have released nine music albums and in the leading of Bazil organize gospel-singing courses, which they hope eventually to develop in a Gospel Music School.
“It is impossible to put LCGC in strict music rack. They are so variable, able to adapt. They create a dynamic sound, rich harmony as a full size band or as a little group of singers. LCGC are well known with their fast tempo gospel singings, rhythms of swing, rhythm&blues, traditional and soul style cover versions, as well as vividly attractive choreography,” says the choir about themselves.
London Community Gospel Choir has been a prolific cradle – many of nowadays well known solo singers have begun their careers as participants of this choir.
