On November 28th 2015 in the Embassy of Latgale GORS a place took the celebration concert of the 75th jubilee of Latvian Radio Choir. In addition to Latvian Radio Choir, in the concert “Jubilee Portrait” participated the Chamber Orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga”. Concert was produced by Uģis Brikmanis, video by Roberts Rubīns, lighting production by Mārtiņš Feldmanis. Conductor Sigvards Kļava.
A special concert program revealed the compositions of an outstanding Latvian composers - Ēriks Ešenvalds, Pēteris Vasks, Rihards Dubra, Emīls Dārziņš and others. The concert was full of surprises.
Latvian Radio Choir is one of the best chamber choirs in Europe. Their high musical culture, intelligence and unique richness of the sounds, from the crystal clarity of a drop, colorful orchestral majesty to the ability to reach beyond the boundaries of a human body, has made them a special symbol in a world map of a choir music. From 1992, Latvian Radio Choir has been led by two conductors – Artistic Director and the leading conductor Sigvards Kļava and conductor Kaspars Putniņš.
During the press conference that took a place in the middle August, the conductor of Latvian Radio Choir Sigvards Kļava revealed that the 75th anniversary of the choir will be celebrated in Rezekne, on November 28th, this way, not only acknowledging the human love towards the region of Latgale, but also emphasizing the importance of the concert hall itself: “If there is something well done in the culture field that needs to be mentioned, it’s definitely the concert hall. The Embassy of Latgale GORS has a special aura, where the music and its spirit are willing to live a very “tasteful life”.”
