Movie theatre “Silverscreen” invites to a movie “Brain Storm: Between the Shores” screening on November 1st at 19.00. The movie is a documental story about four friends. A story about four different schoolmates, that are still similar in their hearts. They all were born in mid-70’s, grew up with the Soviet animated movies and empty store shelfs. They were the ones creating the music band “Brain Storm” on the eve of our countrie’s independence. For the very first time, the band will openly tell about the time spent together and the moments of joy. About the West and East. This will be an opportunity to participate in the work process of their most recent music album production in Berlin, as well as see the historic scenes from archives. The movie is the story about “Brain Storm” and our countrie’s road of development. About the spite and not giving up. About persistence, fall and rise. In a search of a better life, she decides to travel to the United Kingdom together with her boyfriend at a time Paris. In the same city, lives a nineteen-year-old Russian young man Romeo who also seeks a better life and dreams about his hip-hop career in the broad Russia. After an unexpected meeting both youngsters fall in love, however, the dreams and hopes for a brighter future crumbles in one evening.

18:00 - ESCAPING RIGA is a cinematic journey, drama-documentary searching the answers to the question of how the happenings of the first part of 20th century influenced and changed the lives of people born in the same location – Riga. It reveals how dreams can turn into the disappointment and crush of the illusions. Two leading character of the movie are two world-level genius – British thinker Sir Isaiah Berlin and Russian film director Sergey Eisenstein - both born in Riga more than 100 years ago. Following the parallel lives of these two personalities and the interpretation of the film director behind the scenes, film will reveal an unusual personal story about the beginning of the 20th century, the time when Europe had been changed permanently.
