Concert Production “SONGS ALONG THE AMBER ROAD”

On August 2, in the Small Hall of the Embassy of Latgale GORS, the attendants of the concert had an opportunity to see and hear a unique concert production of the performers from different continents with various ethnicities and musical experience: Laila Siliņa, Jim Matus, Shane Shanahan, Timo Venenens. The ensemble "TālaMana" created of these musicians, during the concert performed an original music, improvisations of ancient folk melodies and music arrangements of nowadays – from deeply lyric Baltic songs to passionate and fiery Mediterranean rhythms and oriental themes, instrumental music and songs in different languages – Latvian, Polish, Hungarian, German, Italian, Greek and Arabic. This carried everyone on adventurous musical journey to the legendary amber trade roads from the shores of the Baltic Sea, through the Central Europe and Mediterranean, and even to the ancient Egypt.
