The submission has been opened for the Latgalian Culture Award “Boņuks 2015” – a project recognizing the achievements in the Latgalian Culture in 2015. The receivers of the award will be announced during the Awarding Ceremony on February 28th, 2016. This will be the eight time of the awards being presented. “Boņuks” is the only award that emphasizes and honors the achievements in Latgalian culture.
Each year, the solemn award ceremony gathers the most active workers and supporters of the Latgalian culture, the work, and effort, life calling of which is enriching and improving the Latgalian culture and industries related to that. Each of the award ceremonies are enriched with Latgalian performances and the most outstanding productions of the previous year. The first part of the ceremony will present the musical performance produced within the festival „ORGANisms” – „Sun. Children. Rainis”. The second part, however, will be dedicated to the award ceremony. Everyone is welcome to attend the event.
Filled submission forms for the award “Boņuks 2015” shall be sent electronically, to the postal box or can be filled online. Forms shall be filled and sent to the Embassy of Latgale GORS untill January 11th, 2016 the latest. Submissions will be evaluated by the professional jury formed of the industry professionals.
The awards of the year 2014, honoring the achievements and active input in the Latgalian culture, have been received by the writer Inga Ābele for the novel „Klūgu mūks”, songwriter Kārlis Kazāks, artist Osvalds Zvejsalnieks, writer Ilze Sperga, Viesturs Kairiššs for the documental film „Pelikāns tuksnesī”, composer Rihards Dubra, music bands „Bez PVN”, „Dabasu Durovys”, „Laimas Muzykanti”, „Elektrofolk” and others. The award for contribution of the lifetime has been received by the journalist Maruta Latkovska.
Latgalian Culture Award “Boņuks 2015” is supported by the State Culture Foundation, Culture Ministry, Rezekne City Council, and Latgale municipality councils.
