At the end of January will be announced the receivers of the highest state music award “Grand Music Award 2015”, among the nominees of whom are listed numerous events that have already taken a place or are scheduled to be held this year at the Embassy of Latgale GORS. We invite rezeknenians and the guests of the city to evaluate past events, and enjoy the opportunity to experience the presence of an outstanding performers and events held at the Embassy of Latgale GORS!
This year, for an outstanding interpretation, is nominated conductor Andris Poga, under a lead of which in Rezekne a often guest is Latvian National Symphony Orchestra. The performance of the conductor is highlighted for an interpretation of 13th Symphony “Бабий Яр” by Dmitry Shostakovich in the concert program of LNSO “Pearls of Russian Music III”. Last year, the interpretation was performed at the Embassy of Latgale GORS. Also, for an outstanding interpretation among the nominees is listed pianist Reinis Zariņš, who visited in Rezekne the last year, however, he will also perform as a part of a music and dance duo this year, on April 24th, presenting an interpretation of the cycle “Gadalaiki” by Pēteris Vasks.
For an outstanding performance is nominated one more of the welcomed guest of Rezekne – chamber orchestra “Sinfonietta Rīga” for the concerts performed during the year of 2015. In May of this year, chamber orchestra will perform a special arrangement of “Seasons” by Vivaldi together with the violinist Vineta Sareika. For the highest award is also nominated singer Daumants Kalninš, the performance of whose will be presented at the Embassy of Latgale GORS in February.
As the new performer of the year has been highlighted an opera singer Mihails Čulpajevs, whom was chance to hear in the concert program for children “Russian Souvenir”, as well in the Latvian National Opera soloist concert. Performance of the singer will surely be included in the concert program of this year also. For the creative work in an ensemble, for the “Grand Music Award” is nominated musicians of the chamber orchestra “Sinfornietta Rīga”, who have also performed on the stage of the Embassy of Latgale GORS – flutist Ilona Meija, oboist of LNSO Egils Upatnieks, pianist of Latvian Radio Bigband Viktors Ritovs, as well as trumpeter Jānis Porietis, the performance of whose has been highly appreciated during the concert-performance “Dagda Sketchbook” and the jubilee concert of Latvian Radio Choir on November 28th.
A special joy is for the nomination “Concert of the Year”, for which, one of the andidate is the 75th jubilee concert “Jubilee Portrait” by Latvian Radio Choir. The concert was held at the Embassy of Latgale GORS in November of the previous year. For the nomination “New Composition of the Year” has been nominated the composition “Šyupuļdzīdzme Jēzum” by Andrejs Selickis. The composition has been performed for the first time during the previously mentioned jubilee concert.
