Celebrating the anniversary year of the outstanding composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, on August 2, at 17.00, on the stage of the Embassy of Latgale GORS Big Hall, a place will take the Gala concert dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the composer. The Attendants of the concert will have an opportunity to enjoy the Symphony No. 6 “Pathetique” (“Pathetic”) and the Concerto No. 1 for Piano and Orchestra performed by the Russian NW Symphony Orchestra.
Unrepeatable compositions of Pyotr Tchaikovsky – Symphony No.6 “Pathetique” (“Pathetic”) and the Concerto No.1 for Piano and Orchestra – will create the foundation of the concert program, dedicated to the 175th anniversary of the Russian composer. These music masterpieces manifest the leading tendencies of the Russian music – deep content, passion, inspiring lyrics and genuine referral to the listeners` hearts.
Russian Northwest Symphony Orchestra is already well known among the residents of Rezekne city and it`s guests. In August 2014, with a great success orchestra has performed at the Embassy of Latgale GORS with the concert program “Symphonic Cinematograph”, formed from the masterpieces of the film music. Russian Northwest Symphony Orchestra is a project uniting the best musicians in one collective – concertmasters and soloists from the symphony orchestras of the Northwest region of Russia: Saint Petersburg State Philharmonic Orchestra, Saint Petersburg State Conservatory, leading musical theatres of Saint Petersburg, Pskov Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Karelia State Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, Veliky Novgorod Chamber Orchestra and others.
The performance of the orchestra will be enriched with the participation of Maria Tretiakova – the pianist born in a family of musician, in Moscow, in 1984. Her debut with the orchestra took a place when she was only nine years old. Maria’s father is Viktor Tretiakov – a famous Russian violinist, who has visited in Rezekne in eighties in order to perform at the local music school.
In the collaboration process, the position of the concertmaster of Russian Northwest Symphony Orchestra is taken by the first violin of the Saint Petersburg State Philharmonic Orchestra – Lev Klichkov. Creative director and conductor of the orchestra – Gennadi Chernov.
