Within BAROQUE MUSIC DAYS IN REZEKNE 2015 two exhibitions will be displayed at the Latgale Culture and History Museum starting from October 10th:
Exhibition of the Photographer Miloš ŽIHLA (Czech Republic) “Castle of Count Lubkowicz Jezerzhi”
In the series of photography about Jezerzhi castle photographer Miloš Žihla reveals the unexplainable beauty of the castle located in the mountain scenery, the former beauty it’s interior, and harshly displays the trace left by the time and humans. The author and his camera manages to capture the contrast between the architecture of Baroque, that can unnoticeably blend in to the hill filled with trees and spacious industrial valley covered with the detritions of the grey ground - a place where coal is found. A special atmosphere of the surroundings reveals itself in autumn, when the frontage of the castle is gently covered with the colorful, golden leaves and fog. This is the time when photography catches the light note of sadness.
Born in 1959, in city of Most (Czech Republic), the author has lived in Litvinova since then. At the age 15, he got involved in photography, as well as graduated from vocational secondary school in Most. Lived in Prague from 1982 to 1986, where he studied photography with professor Smok at the Prague Conservatory. From 1989 to 1990 studied and graduated from Institute of Creative Photography. Since 1993, he works as the professional photographer, also in his own created workshop in Most.
In his photography, M.Žihla prefers to display sceneries and architecture. His focus is particularly on the mountains and hills in every season of the year. Lately, he has developed interest in an underwater photography. The most beloved genre of the photographer is a still life. It is necessary to mention his collaboration with the archeologists in Most, where he regularly takes the still lives with their archeological discoveries. However, the main idea of the photographer’s future plans involves woman in all her shapes and expressions…
